Organizing Desk Space
With an organized and efficient desk you can save both time and money. You can stay on top of unfinished work, locate papers and files and become more productive.
I suggest you enter a date on your calendar in order to schedule two hours of uninterrupted time with yourself…and keep the appointment. Because there is no such thing as "free" time, use this time to organize your desk and file the papers you want to keep.
Close the door…do not answer any phone and allow no interruptions. Sort, keep and dispose of papers. Become re-energized from clearing your desk space.
Closets – Different Perspective
Most cluttered closets are the result of bad habits that can be modified with attention. Make important little personal rules such as... when something new goes in then something old goes out.
Most of us have excuses as to why we haven't parted with closet stuff. Gift clutter…"Someone gave this to me and I just can't give it away" "Might need it someday" "It's too nice to toss" are additional reasons for holding on to items.
It's been noted that a cluttered closet reflects a cluttered mind! Tired of searching for one particular item? You agree it is frustrating and stressful not to mention a great waste of time.
The Dalai Lama is quoted as saying, "It isn't about having what we want, but wanting what we have."
How to get your closet under control? REMOVE everything …every shoe, every hanger. SORT. Only what you will wear and absolutely love will be returned to your closet. You will sort and divide the rest into "donations," "trash," "storage" (out of season) and "friends." Remember styles are cyclical but not identical. If you loose weight, you'll want all new clothes.
Next step is to evaluate what you have left and determining how to display. Hire a closet company to design the space or visit the do-it-yourself section of a home supply store. Then group clothes by category and then by either color or type and hang on rods or use shelving.
